The Scottish Summer..

A year.. Yes!! It's been a year, since the Scottish Summer; or should I say the beautiful Sumsoon (Sumer/Monsoon); that I experienced in Scotland. Yes, this sunny weekend of '07 in Bombay reminds me of this very weekend last year, when I was in Scotland.

Times flown by, but it's been a year since I made my first trip to foreign soil.. On the 6th of Aug '06; I was as excited & nervous when I landed in London, as my 1 year old niece would be to set foot into the swimming pool.

CUT TO-25th Aug '06..
I distinctly remember, it was a Friday evening & it was I & my 3 fellow Musketeers Prashant, Norton & Glen, packin' up for the day & rushin', 'cos we had a deadline to meet in less than an hour’s time. We had to go to our hotel rooms, pack our bags for the trip, check out from the hotel, shift the remaining luggage to some other rooms & rush to catch the coach for Scotland, in between also had to stop at a Chinese do-to take some dinner packed for our journey.

The coach left for London-Victoria, where there was a stopover & we had to take another coach for Scotland.... THIS.. was my first brush with Cosmopolitan London. We reached London at 22:00 past something. The day we landed in UK, had to rush off to Poole, hence London was only Heathrow airport, then. This Friday night, I wanted to pinch myself to re-iterate that I was in London & not some Asia-African country; 'cos I was bumping across more blacks & Asians than the local (?) whites. I was completely at home, 'cos London Victoria resembled to me Coimbatore bus-station, that I had seen a few years ago; with people trying to get into the bus, from anywhere/anyhow.. I saw a foreign city at dark, & for a Bombayite, it's pretty much like standing in your local bus station or outside a railway terminus.

Amongst all these impatient faces, my eyes were on the prowl for that 1 Ferrari cap; similar to the 1 I was wearing. 5 mins before getting onto my bus for Scotland, I hit jackpot. The hunt for the cap & the person wearing it was finally over, when Prince 'Satish' Charles was spotted. What followed was a series of mutual praises and admirations between the CEO of IBM and the Dy. Asst. Sr. VP of Barclays (Please don't sue me for this). The head honchos resumed with their journey to Scotland, in their respective Convertibles (Read: Public transport buses).
Accompanying me, on this luxurious trip, were 3 corporate figures: - Norton (CEO, Farex), Glen (CEO, Jackson Tissues) and Prashant (Dy.AVP, Barclays).

26/08/06, 0600hrs, Glasgow: - My eyes are again on the prowl, searching for the girl, with the best dimples under the sun.. & Yes there comes my akka. For me, meeting sangee & satish, was half the mission accomplished; of course, the other half was my office work (got to write about the office stuff, what if my boss reads this..) ;).

Well.. After all this TP.. Still lots more to write. This is just my first post at my blog.
Watch out this space for more (or less!!).. In the times to come..
Tchuss!!!
